Verify Data Vault Service Is Running

The Client Recorders contacts the Data Vault Service every four minutes to upload recorded events. If the Client is unable to contact the Data Vault because the service is not running or the Data Vault is not configured to receive recorded events, the Client will keep the recorded events stored in a local data file until an upload can be completed.

 To verify the Data Vault service is running:

  1. Look for the icon in the Windows Taskbar notification area on the computer/server the Data Vault is installed.

  2. Double-click the icon and verify the communication settings are correct.

  3. Open the Log File for advanced troubleshooting information.

Note If the Data Vault is not installed on the same computer as the Control Center, the Data Vault system tray icon  will not be displayed until the Data Vault computer is restarted.
