By default, email notification is sent so that it appears that it is coming from a Spector address via the Spector server. Use the Advanced Keyword Alert route the email notification differently and to change the appearance of the Keyword Alert email notification.
If you are using Direct SMTP with a standard Webmail address, you may not need to fill in additional information. For any other type of email, you will need to provide a Domain or Mail Server information. The fields below vary depending on whether you have selected a Direct SMTP, Relay SMTP, or Exchange Folder server type.
Email Information for Relay SMTP

Domain
/ Mail Server - Not used for
Exchange.
If you are using Direct SMTP, enter the name of the Domain.
If you are using Relay SMTP, enter the address of the Mail Server.
If you don't know how to refer to the mail server, contact your network
administrator. Either an SMTP server name or an IP address will work.
SMTP
Port - Used for Relay SMTP only.
If your network uses its own SMTP servers and blocks access to all
others, use this field to direct the Client to the correct IP port. Most
SMTP servers use Port 25, but
if your company uses a different port, put the port number in the SMTP
Port field. If you do not know these settings, contact your network administrator.
Note: An IP address can be configured instead of an SMTP server name for the Mail Server option. Port 25 is the default communication port used for SMTP, but it is possible that another port for an internal SMTP server is used. Contact your network administrator for more information.
Authentication
- Used for Relay SMTP only.
If your mail server requires authentication to relay messages, fill
in the appropriate fields (None, POP,
ESMTP).
Account
Name - Used for Relay SMTP only.
A login name is required for POP and ESMTP
accounts.
Password
- Used for Relay SMTP only.
A password is required for POP and ESMTP
accounts.
TLS
- Transport
Layer Security (TLS) is a protocol that encrypts communication between
applications and the Internet. You can select:
Do Not Use - no encryption (default)
Use if Available
Required - encryption is required for the email to be sent
Use these fields to make alert messages appear as if they come from another source. If you are using a Direct or Relay SMTP server, you can change the From and Subject fields of the delivered email. You might use these settings to differentiate notification from Clients, or automatically file email with a certain subject line in a special folder.

Friendly From - The name displayed for the email.
From Address - Put an email address in the From Address field that you want the Client to use when it sends the alerts.
Subject - Change the subject of the alert email messages. If you don't enter a subject line, the default subject appears as "Spector Alert on domain\computer."
Computer uses Proxy Server- Enable this option if your company has a proxy server set up to relay information. This setting allows the SpectorSoft mail server to pass through. If you enable proxy server support, you will most likely leave the above "Email Information" entry for Domain / Mail Server blank. The proxy server must be a Web proxy (HTML Proxy) server.
Address - IP Address or server name of the proxy server.
HTTP Port - The proxy server IP port.
