From the Trenches: Reseller Spotlight |
Calsoft Systems, a newly recruited SpectorSoft Partner, is a 2007 CRN Fast Growth 100 system integrator headquartered in Torrance, California with sales offices in Chicago, New York, and Tokyo. Dedicated to delivering cost- effective network and security solutions, Calsoft Systems constantly evaluates new products and technologies to offer its diverse client base. After reviewing many security products, Calsoft Systems chose Spector 360 as its monitoring solution based on “extended functionality and flexible reporting.”
“Compared to Spector 360, most monitoring products are complex, difficult to manage, and have a smaller feature set,” said Koji Mori, Calsoft System’s General Manager of Network Services. “Ease of implementation and minimal maintenance were important factors in the decision to recommend Spector 360 to our clients. In addition, SpectorSoft’s excellent Technical Support team helps us maintain the high quality support Calsoft clients have come to expect.” |

Who's Talking About Us? |

Monitoring is a red hot topic, which makes it hot for sales and means that SpectorSoft turns up frequently in the news.
CMP Channel, “Security Sizzles at XChange Conference,”
by Jennifer Hagendorf Follett, August 20, 2007.
SpectorSoft launched Spector360 SR2, the latest release of its PC monitoring and employee surveillance software, at the Conference in Orlando, FL. Solution provider Connecting Point Technology Center has seen a sharp increase in the number of customers interested in employee monitoring solutions, said Lester Keizer, president of the Las Vegas-based company, estimating that his sales of Spector360 are up over 30 percent year-over-year.
Colourful Radio, London,

Tech Tips |
| Spector360: How do you manage disk space on the Spector 360 Database computer? Spector 360 Space Management tools can help. When a database reaches 2GB (by default), it is considered “full,” and a new database is started. Space Management lets you automatically archive any “full” database by age (how many days it has been “full”) or when a certain number of “full” databases have accumulated. Archiving removes the data set from the active databases and stores it in an archive location. If space is really tight, you can also automatically delete records (recorded events) from the active database — or space-consuming snapshot files — by “age.” See the discussion of Space Management in the Database section of the Spector 360 Dashboard Guide:
VIEW DISCUSSION >>
Spector CNE: When you’re using a standalone Spector CNE Viewer, separate from the CNE Data Vault, the Favorites menu provides a quick way to load recordings for select users you need to monitor. The first time you navigate to a user folder at the remote Data Vault computer, add the folder as a "favorite" (similar to a "bookmark"). The next time you want to view that user’s activity, simply choose the name you gave the folder directly from the Favorites menu. This way, you don't have to navigate to the remote computer, disk, and directory each time you want to load the data.
Spector PRO: Is it possible to view Spector Pro data from another computer? Yes! A single-computer license allows you to install the FULL Spector Pro program on the computer to be recorded and — using Advanced Setup — install ONLY the Spector Pro Viewer on another computer elsewhere on a domain or workgroup network. Once the Viewer is installed, to view data you will need to: (1) Share the Spector Pro data file on the recorded computer. Accomplish this by using the Data File Settings provided in Spector Pro. (2) Use the Viewer to navigate to and load the data file from the recorded computer. You’ll be free to monitor activity at any time! Look for complete instructions in Spector Pro 6.0 Online Help.
